Historic Wissahickon Valley

Picture
The Wissahickon Valley may seem like your average Philadelphia suburb, but it has a long history of people and places that made it what it is today. Ambler alone has a lot of history that is still visible today. The buildings you pass everyday could be the foundation on which the entire town once stood. Here are some important people and places that have historical significance and should be recognized by anyone who passes through.

My Goal

Picture
My goal is to educate the residents of the Wissahickon Valley, including Ambler, Whitpain, Blue Bell, Lower Gwynedd, and North Whales, on the historical significance of our area. Everyone should know where Ambler got its name from, or what stood on the street corner before it became a McDonalds. By reading and listening to a few of these stories, people will feel closer to their home and have a new appreciation for where they live. We need to learn about where we came from and keep the history alive.
